DECADES

This section serves two purposes, firstly it gives you the viewer a summary of the last few decades of many of the bands of the era, with selected posters from all of the previous featured categories. Secondly, it is a convenient dumping ground for those posters that cannot be filed into any of the other categories listed in this website. You will note that there are no sections for the 1950’s and 1960’s, this is for a number of reasons, one of them being simply down to the fact that I just don’t have the money. The other main reason is that the poster was not a significant part of promotion for albums and singles, although for tours it was. Furthermore, whether there is an intrinsic link or not, the graphic design for this industry hardly existed, it wasn’t until the end of the 1960’s (probably due the Psychedelic period) before sleeve design and poster art came to the fore. Posters came into their own in the 1970’s and essentially this is where it starts.......
