MUTE RECORDS

Formed in 1978 by Daniel Miller, Miller was pivotal in the success of Depeche Mode, whose growing international success made Mute Records one of the most successful independent record labels. Miller is a true pioneer, you only have to listen to his 1978 single 'Warm Leatherette' to appreciate that which he released under the name The Normal, and was eventually covered by Grace Jones.
